Faces 12 - North Light Portraits.
Many thanks to my friend and gaffer, Senol Toz, who, with me, designed a semi-portable north-light tent for this series of photographs. Senol, whom I have known since first coming to Turkey, has an amazing appreciation of light, and even when, in those early days when neither of us spoke the other's language, he would almost supernaturally understand what my rough drawings and gesticulations meant in terms of what lighting was required of him.

'Salep' is a hot milky drink flavoured with the root of the Early Purple Orchid, and is available during the winter months.
